Film SFX and Blank Ammunition
Film & Theatrical Guns
In connection with the Hire of Film guns, AVB operates a Blank
Ammunitions manufacturing facility, to supply Movie production
quality Blank cartridges for production and re-enatctment use,
for any small arms made since the inception of cartridges in the
1860s. We DO NOT supply blanks in any antique RIMFIRE calibres;
only Centerfire Types are made by AVB. For historical reenactment
purposes, AVB can supply both factory-made military and custom-made
blanks for all military calibres since 1870.
AVB uses best practice methods in cartridge manufacture, with
progressive loading machinery in an appropiate cartidge loading
facility. Components are sourced from local suppliers and importers,
and are fully traceable for product liability purposes. All lots
of blank cartidges are tested as production proceeds, and quality
assurance methods reflect those practised in the best Ammunition
factories. AVB maintains Public Liability Insurance for its Hire
Guns and Blank ammunition made and supplied.

9mm Auto, .38/357 revolver, .45 Auto; .44 magnum; Black powder
blanks in: .38, .44 and .45 revolver types for Western / Colonial
use; Similar calibre blanks for Rifle and Shotgun use (Black powder,
1880s type)
Military rifle Blanks for WWI, WWII and Korea / Vietnam: .303,
7,9mm, 7mm, .30/06, 6, 5 Japanese, 7,7 Japanese, 6,5 Italian,
7,62 Russian Rimmed and 7,62x39;7,62 Nato, 5,56 Nato (several
types); 7,9x33 Kurz (MP44); 8mm Lebel; 8mm Mannlicher (both M95
and M95S types);
Most sporting rifle calibres
19th century Black powder blanks of all the common rifles of
the period, military and commerical eg: 11mm Mauser, 11 Gras,
450 Martini, .45/70 US; all of the Winchester lever action calibres,
all of the Remington Rolling Block calibres.
19th and 20th century revolver blanks (US and European origin)
can be made to custom order.
Military blanks can be made to rifle use specification or Automatic
Fire specification, for use in machineguns; levels of flash and
sound can be adjusted to suit production requirements, in keeping
with safe, reliable operation of the Hire guns.
We can also make to order, large calibre cannon and artillery
cartidges blanks, for SFX purposes (Flash and smoke).
Costs are commensurated with the type and quantity required.
Some Film productions run to 100,000 blanks in a single calibre
(Thin Red Line, The Great Raid)
